Onru Short Film

25 “short” years ago I made a short film that was accepted into a bi-coastal film festival. In July of 2001 “First Flight” played at the Music Hall Theatre in Beverly HIlls and in September 2001 it played in New York, changing my life’s path.

In a full circle moment, “Onru” played this weekend, 25 years later in literally the same theatre… same theatre, different movie, different me.

What an opportunity to look back and see how much my path has changed over the years. So much change, to find myself back at this place again… making short films, blessed to have the opportunity to create and working to find the next opportunity.

I have certainly learned that you cannot sit and wait for opportunity to come to you, it is up to you to create your opportunities. I am so proud to meet and see so many filmmakers creating their opportunity and putting themselves out there. It is an incredible community and I hope to continue on this journey that started over twenty five years ago.
